Bryan Rieger is an incessantly curious, British-Canadian
animator, theatre designer, programmer, artist, designer and writer living in Toronto, Canada, Surabaya, Indonesia, Hong Kong, China, Bangkok, Thailand, London, United Kingdom, Edinburgh, United Kingdom, Vancouver, Canada where he also runs Yiibu with his partner Stephanie.
While originally focused on animation and theatre, software such as HyperCard, Director and Mosaic eventually led him to a career in software product design. Rather unexpectedly, during a trip to South East Asian in 2001 he became obsessed those ‘glowing rectangles’ that would soon come to dominate our lives.
His influences include Shigeru Miyamoto, Charles M. Schulz, Norman McLaren, E. E. Cummings and Susan Kare. It's also rumoured that he has a secret, life-long fascination with
Hello Kitty. He's currently working on a number of projects exploring the Web, pop culture, social media and our evolving relationship with technology.
